Important Updates to Our Tax Preparation Process for the 2025–2026 Tax Season

To continue providing timely, efficient, and high-quality tax preparation services, we are updating a few of our office procedures for this upcoming tax season. Please review the following important changes, as they will apply to all individual and business tax returns.

1. Payment Method Required at Drop-Off or Completion
Beginning this season, we will no longer bill or invoice after your return is completed.
Instead:
•    We will collect your preferred payment method (credit/debit card, ACH, or other approved method) at the time you drop off your tax documents or when we finish preparing your return.
•    Payment will be processed before your tax return is electronically filed.
•    Your return will not be e-filed until payment has been received using the method you selected.
This change helps us streamline our workflow, reduce outstanding balances, and keep our focus on preparing your returns accurately and on time.

2. Scheduled Drop-Offs & Finalization Appointments
To better manage workload and turnaround times, we are moving to a scheduled system for all tax returns:
•    You will schedule a time to drop off your tax documents.
•    RE Donica & Associates will schedule a separate time to review and finalize your tax return (by phone, virtual meeting, or in-office, as needed).
If you prefer an in-person, in-office appointment, we ask that you schedule those appointments by March 15, 2026, for Personal Returns (Individual).

3. Deadlines to Avoid Extensions
To ensure your return is filed on time and not placed on extension, we must receive all tax documents and information by the following dates and your preferred payment method:
•    Business Tax Returns:
All business tax documents must be in our office on or before February 5, 2026.
•    Personal (Individual) Tax Returns:
All personal tax documents must be in our office on or before March 15, 2026.
If your documents are received after these dates, we may need to file an extension for your return and cannot guarantee completion by the regular filing deadline.
